Saidai Samiyappan Duraisamy (Tamil: சைதை சா. துரைசாமி)(born 16 Feb 1951) is an Indian Politician and incumbent Mayor of Corporation of Chennai.[1] He is also the first candidate of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam party to emerge victorious as the Mayor of Chennai.[2]

He is the founder and Chairman of the Manidhaneyam, a free IAS & IPS coaching centre in Tamilnadu. It provides free coaching to selected candidates for UPSC, TNPSC Group-I and Group-II examinations and credited with helping more than Four hundred candidates so far to get into the coveted All India Civil services like IAS, IPS, IFS.

He was elected to the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly in 1984 from the Saidapet constituency. He stayed away from politics after the demise of M. G. Ramachandran. He contested the assembly elections in Tamil Nadu under the AIADMK ticket in the Kolathur constituency, which he lost.

He contested the mayor election of Chennai corporation, and became the first AIADMK mayor of the city on 21 October 2011. He won the election by a convincing margin of over 5.19 lakh votes. He took oath on 25 October 2011 as the Mayor of Greater Chennai Corporation.
